30) Support Animal Rights

Dude, I can't even fish without crying. Might as well join the ASPCA. I love animals, always have, always will. I am in constant need of a pet no matter how much of a headache they can be.
Goal Date: Always.
Pledge to Fight Animal Cruelty

9) Stay Fit

I don't want to be skinny, per say, in fact I'd actually like to gain some weight so I can be in that ideal bracket the doctors tell you about. What I really mean here is being able to lift heavy things or do a push up or sit up without dying.
Goal Date: Now.

UPDATE:
Two motor routes for the Lincoln Journal Star (still involves running, stretching and climbing), one of which is a machine route (bundles of papers into the machines).
Three walking routes for the Penny Press. Which means, with our dog, hauling about 150 papers each, oh, I'd say 6 miles. At least this route is in the daylight and stretched over two days.
Hows that for some fitness?

3) Graduate From The University of Nebraska

I have to! I don't know how! But I want to find a way!
Goal Date: Just start figuring out a way...

UPDATE:
I'm filling out a FAFSA, I have a list of grants...now if only I could figure out what the heck to do about actually obtaining a grant...
If I can get enough scholarship money, I'm going to go, 90% online at IWCC (Iowa Western Community College) to get my A.S. in Psychology, because all but two classes are transferable.
That way, all that's left are the last two years (the fun years) to get my B.S. in Psychology at UNL. Woohoo!
I'd say, go for all four years if I could get the scholarships, but, going to UNL would mean uprooting from Nebraska City temporarily, and, if I can go to IWCC, I can actually commute there reasonably from Nebraska City and it would be easier on us to have some time to get things in order to move to Lincoln, rather than just jumping the gun.
Now, about that money...

2) Take Singing Lessons

Surely I have to have some talent, right???
I've been told I cannot sing. My husband, my brother, and my sister-in-law dispute that.
I want to sing, really I do, but I am a naturally shy person and don't like to draw attention to myself. My husband never even heard me sing until a few months after we were married!
I think if I can trust myself to sing, it would help me a lot.
Now where do you go to get singing lessons around here?
Goal Date: Have taken lessons by the end of next year.

UPDATE
I'm thinking two birds with one stone here, so this one may be delayed a bit. Guess who has voice lessons as a free elective credit? Yup, IWCC. That may be the ticket. Getting the lessons I dream about, AND getting school credit for it. Sweet!

35) ...

I can't quite put this one into words yet.

34) Live My Life Statement

Thanks to an interesting man named Clay Nelson and his inspirational audio discs, I am wanting to create my own life statement.
Goal Date: Have a statement before the new year.

33) No Foul Language

!@#$%^&* this is gonna be a hard one.
Goal Date: Now.

32) Live Indigo

Call me crazy, I don't care. I believe in metaphysics and I'm sold on the Indigo and Crystal generations. I fall into the Indigo generation.
Goal Date: Always.

31) Visit Joe In Kiev

If it happens that he won't be there, I want to at least be in touch with the organization he works with when I visit. Joe is a wonderful man that is currently a missionary over there. He was an ESL teacher I worked with and I haven't seen him since I was a young teenager, so it would be nice to see him again, especially in a land I have always wanted to see.
Goal Date: On my way to Moscow.

29) Vist My Neb. Family At Least Once A Year

Now that I'm finally up here, I would be an idiot not to see them all.
Goal Date: Every year.

28) Learn Russian

These dear friends of mine that I have spoken of were very elderly and I, from the age of 10 to 18, taught them English as a Second Language, though it was more like fifth or sixth to most of them. I feel it's the least I can do to learn their language.
Goal Date: Before I go to Kiev or Moscow.

27) Visit Moscow

...the capitol of the nation that so many of my dear Jewish friends fled from to escape the oppression and find a new life in America.
Goal Date: Before 2012.

26) Visit Israel

...out of love and respect for my dear, dear Jewish friends that I learned so much from growing up.
Goal Date: Before 2012.

25) Make It To Corporate

Corporate Director is the highest earning level you can be at (Though there is Corporate I, II, etc.) with the wellness company I work from home with. This is the company car, 100k a year level. It's not all for the fortune, but that's still pretty sweet.
Goal Date: 2010.

24) Live Natural

I'm not saying wear burlap, live in a tree and only eat what you grow yourself. I'm saying, we can help the world. I can garden, compost, recycle, eat organic when possible, and such. I work for a wellness company that sells natural cleaners and household products, so that helps.
Goal Date: Always.

23) Let Go

It's time I give up my inner demons and the things that hold me back.
Goal Date: Just keep intending.

22) Keep NaNoWriMo Alive

Be it with monetary donations, or having to do some underground thing myself if it dies out, I want to keep it going. National Novel Writing Month from The Office of Letters and Light has pushed me to write two of my three novels. Without them I probably would never even wanted to do anything with that first novel.
Goal Date: Always.

21) Give My Mom A Present On My Birthday

I read this in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Charlie's excuse for this was: Because she was there too, right? (That was way paraphrased.)
Goal Date: Every birthday.

20) Write An Unorthodox Autobiography

I want to write an autobiography, but it mustn't be normal.
Goal Date: 2011.

19) Publish My Poetry

This shouldn't be hard. It's just a matter of formatting all my poems together and getting them up on LuLu.com.
Goal Date: Ready for next Christmas.

18) Share Secrets

No, I'm not just gonna list them here and say I'm done with number eighteen. I mean that I'm tired of staying quiet and what I've done and experienced that is less than ideal may just help someone through their hard times.
Goal Date: Whenever the opportunity presents itself.

17) Embrace The Inner Hippie/Geek

How dorky does that sound? Good grief! It's true though, I am so hippie. And I've heard geek tossed around a few times. I'm such a free spirit and a Libertarian to boot! This is just me reminding myself of the labels that best define me and to not ignore who I am.
Goal Date: Now.

16) Get A Tattoo

How cliche for a Bucket List. Oh, well.
Goal Date: Before we start planning a family.

15) Get My Ears 4x Pierced

Vain yes. Do I care? No.
Goal Date: 3rd time, when our income stabilizes. 4th time, my 20th birthday.

14) Pick Something Scary To Do Every Year

Just to liven things up when New Years resolutions roll around.
Goal Date: Every New Year.

13) Establish My Business

Phoenix Flames Inc. is well on it's way! I'm excited. This may very well be the first check off I have. I'll probably update this blog entry soonest, just because I feel like I'm really on to something.
Goal Date: 21st birthday.

12) Be Enlightened

I don't ever want to be closed minded to anything.
Goal Date: Now.

11) Get On The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Why? We have the same name, and she's freaking awesome. Nah, it's more than that. I admire her and think it would be neat to be famous enough to get on the show and have the audience all get a copy of my latest novel.
Goal Date: Before 2012.

10) Plan My Funeral

I know it sounds morose, but I want things a certain way. This one also encompasses my will, but "Plan My Death" sounded just too creepy.
Goal Date: Within a year.

8) Be Political

A small town seems a good place to be really involved and not fall through the cracks, so I'd love to get back into the whole big, debate-rendering thing.
Goal Date: Be prepared for the presidential election.

7) Read The Dictionary

...don't ask.
Goal Date: Within the next two years.

6) Trace My Genealogy

It's important to me that I can pass this down. My cousin did a huge project when she was younger, and I got copies of everything. She did so much work, so I pretty much am left with filling in the blanks she couldn't find and catching up with where she left off. The tricky part is my mom's side of the family.
Goal Date: Soon.

5) Publish A Series

So I have the publishing thing under control. Now the whole "I don't have a plot big enough to make a series out of it" thing is the only bit holding me back!
Goal Date: Have a plot drafted by 2010.

4) Publish A Book

I've found a self publishing website called LuLu.com and I've written 3 drafts of novels so far.
I think I can! I think I can!
Now comes the harried process of editing and making it what I truly imagine it to be. The difficult task will be allowing close friends and family to proof it for me...
I don't think this one is too far out of sight.
Goal Date: Have the manuscript by Christmas 2009.

1) Write To All Who Have Effected Me

Effect? Affect?
I don't know how I am going to go about this, but it is my intention to, one of these days, write a letter to the people I have something to say to. Delivery will be another trick entirely.
I suppose some, to people I can't contact will be tucked away. Maybe I'll burn them all ceremoniously or something.
A lot of these letters will be hard to write...parents...friends...
Some will be easy though, like those people that switched your life around for the better.
I haven't started yet, but it's always on my mind.
Goal Date: Start for the new year.
